Unizulu investigates fake post on student admission

Those responsible for the misleading notice will be criminally charged and expelled

THE University of Zululand (Unizulu) has warned students not to fall prey to a fake social media post about its registration and admission processes for the 2024 academic year.

Unizulu said admissions to the institution are handled online and no walk-ins will be accepted.

This is after a notice depicting the university’s logo and colours was shared on social media platforms, calling on all who wish to secure space at the university to send WhatsApp messages and emails to receive placement.

“Management hereby unequivocally clarifies that this notice is false. The university strongly discredits and rejects its authenticity. The intention behind the circulation of this notice is to disrupt the registration process, causing confusion, chaos and potential mischief,” said the university.

Unizulu said it is investigating the matter, and those responsible for the misleading notice will be criminally charged and expelled.
