One killed as truck crashes into Pongola homestead

A 28-year-old man was killed, and his mother and six-year-old child seriously injured when a truck crashed into their home on Tuesday.
The accident occurred at KwaNcube reserve outside Pongola.
Information from the scene indicates that the truck was travelling along the N2 when the driver (41) lost control.
Zululand Cluster police spokesperson Captain Nkosie Gwala said the truck veered off the road and onto the Mayisela homestead.
“The truck crashed into the house and killed Thami Ntuli (28) who was inside. His mother
Masindi Ndlovu suffered serious injuries, as did a six-year-old child.
“Both of them were rushed to Itshelejuba Hospital for medical attention. A 41-year-old truck driver from Hluhluwe was arrested and charged with culpable homicide,” she said.
