KwaMsane SAPS investigate a burglary at Khulubone Primary School

KwaMsane SAPS are investigating a curious case of theft at a local school where instant porridge is suspected to have been stolen.

The burglary at Khulubone Primary School at Nsolweni occurred over the weekend of 10 November, with school officials arriving at the premises on Monday, 13 November morning to find that the door of the school’s kitchen had been forced open.

Police spokesperson Captain Sbusiso Mkhize said the complainant, the school cook, in the matter alleged that she left the school on 10 November at around midday, leaving ‘everything in good order’, and had ensured that the school kitchen’s windows were closed and the door was ‘properly locked’.

Mkhize said that when the school cook arrived at work that Monday, at around 6.30am, she found that a burglary had taken place.

“She noticed that packets of instant porridge valued at R570 were missing from inside the cupboard,” said Mkhize.

No arrest has been made and the suspect is unknown at this stage.
