WATCH: Manhunt launched after taxis, bus torched in Empangeni

A massive manhunt has been launched following the torching of eight mini-bus taxis and a bus at a car wash on Turnbull Street in Empangeni on Thursday night.

While the motive of the torching is not yet known, it is believed a group of men wearing balaclavas stormed the premises before setting the parked vehicles on fire.

The incident occurred shortly after 10pm, and City of uMhlathuze firefighters were promptly on scene to extinguish the massive blaze.

No injuries were reported, and an investigation is ongoing.

At this stage, the extent of the damage has not been confirmed.
