After a weekend of cold, wet weather that saw temperatures plummet across Zululand and KZN amid thunderstorms and heavy rain from Friday, reports have emerged of snow flurries today (Monday) between Ladysmith and Newcastle.
Further inland, thick snowfall has blanketed the N3 at Harrismith and on Van Reenen’s Pass.
The cold weather is set to continue into tomorrow, with temperatures as low as 14 in eShowe, 17 with rain in Empangeni, Richards Bay and Mtubatuba, and 16 in Pongola and Hluhluwe.
Temperatures are set to start rising from Wednesday, fluctuating for the remainder of the week and into the weekend.
