Empangeni pool to open ‘in time for summer’

R2.1-million worth of renovations are underway at Empangeni pool

Almost four years since its forced Covid closure in March 2020, the Empangeni municipal swimming pool will once again be fit for purpose.

Extensive renovations to the tune of R2.1-million are under way and, according to the City of uMhlathuze, will be completed by early December.

Since the pool’s closure, Empangeni residents have pleaded for its refurbishment and reopening, with many promises of work commencing, but no results.
