Load-shedding temporarily suspended in Richards Bay
The water supply interruption was a result of a burst pipe near Cambridge Place in Arboretum
Load-shedding has been temporarily suspended in Richards Bay this (Thursday) morning to allow reservoirs to completely fill up following Wednesday’s water outage in most suburbs.
The water supply interruption was a result of a burst pipe near Cambridge Place in Arboretum, which forced the city’s plumbers to stop the pumps at the water treatment works in order to isolate the line and conduct repairs.
This left most parts of Richards Bay without water while others experienced low water pressure.
Once reservoirs have filled, water pressure levels are expected to return to normal and load shedding will resume as per schedule and stage.
Load-shedding will run as normal in Empangeni.
