Richards Bay hijacking raises alarm

This is the second hijacking incident to have been reported in the suburb in recent weeks.

A hijacking that occurred in Brackenham on Tuesday morning has raised the alarm on safety, with motorists urged to be cautious when leaving, or returning to their homes.

This is the second hijacking incident to have been reported in the suburb in recent weeks.

Tuesday’s incident occurred in Asplenium Street where a Hyundai i10 was taken with its driver at about 5.40am.

It is believed the driver was held up while exiting his premises and the suspects drove off with him in the vehicle, dropping him off near the Mondi robots in Alton.

In the previous incident two weeks ago, a Hyundai bakkie was hijacked in Alpine Walk at night.

There were reports of a white Polo with no number plates parked in the vicinity before the hijacking occurred.

The community is urged to be on high alert and on the lookout for any suspicious activity.
