Search is on for missing Hluhluwe man

A Hluhluwe man has reportedly gone missing while planning his sister's wedding

A Hluhluwe family is concerned after the disappearance of Mzwakhe Mathenjwa (48) two weeks ago.

According to police reports, Mathenjwa went to withdraw R2 000 to buy a kist and material for his sister’s wedding on 4 July.

However, he did not return home and his family reported him missing.

Mathenjwa was working as a security guard at Mtubatuba Mall, but had taken some time off to prepare for his sister’s wedding, and was supposed to report back to work last Monday.

His fiancée Lindiwe Gumede (47) said they have looked everywhere, and even consulted with sangomas.

“All of them told us he had been kidnapped and is still alive. It has been almost two weeks now and his phone is off,” said Gumede.

KZN SAPS spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo is calling on anyone with information to contact the police station on 035 5624300.
