Disruptive rain forecast for Zululand region

Ulundi, uMhlathuze, Nkandla, uMlalazi, Mandeni and Mthonjaneni are among the areas that will be affected.

Disruptive rain, which may lead to localised flooding, is expected over eastern parts of KZN tomorrow (Wednesday).

This is according to the SA Weather Service (SAWS), who said Ulundi, uMhlathuze, Nkandla, uMlalazi, Mandeni and Mthonjaneni are among the areas that will be affected.

The warning is in place from 3pm to 11pm.

“Some areas along southern parts of KZN are expected to receive some rain tonight (Tuesday),” said SAWS.

“Motorists are urged to be cautious as difficult conditions can be expected on dirt roads, as well as minor motor vehicle accidents owing to poor visibility and slippery roads.

“Avoid crossing rivers and swollen streams where water is above your ankles.

“Take caution when travelling on roads as potholes may be filled with water and there may be sinkholes.”
