The Covid-19 pandemic dealt a double blow to one Empangeni resident who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) in 2020.

“I vividly remember a room full of specialists informing me that my road to recovery would be long.”

“I was the first child in my family, married my first love Pravin, and was the first person in my family to be diagnosed with any type of cancer,” said Raksha Naicker (43).
