Two arrests have been made in the brutal murder of a Chinese businessman in the Empangeni CBD on Monday.
The man was stabbed and his throat slit.

On Tuesday, King Cetshwayo Cluster police spokesperson Captain Siyanda Shanganse said, “They stabbed the man at his shop in the CBD.”
The incident has sent a shockwave through the business community in town, as the victim was slain at his premises in front of innocent bystanders, while the accused fled on foot.

With the help of the community, the suspects were soon apprehended by police. They appeared in Empangeni Magistrate’s Court on
Wednesday and the case was postponed to Friday, 14 April owing to a request for Legal Aid representation.
When the Zululand Observer visited the scene on Wednesday, the shop’s doors were closed, and there was no confirmation as to when it would reopen.
