Zululand region suffers mass power outage
There is no estimated time of restoration for any of the affected areas.
In the aftermath of yesterday’s (Monday) severe storm that devastated some parts of the Zululand region while leaving others virtually unscathed, hundreds of residents this morning awoke to no electricity.
“A severe storm swept through Empangeni and Mkhuze, leading to power outages in eNseleni, KwaMbonambi, Mtubatuba, Hluhluwe and Mkhuze,” tweeted Eskom earlier today.

“Restoration may take long due to access problems.”
The power utility advised residents to treat all installations as live for the duration of the outage so as to avoid tragedy.

In an update shortly after 10am, Eskom extended the outage distribution to include Jozini and Manguzi, which sustained storm-related infrastructure damage, and said technicians have been deployed.
