Municipality to accelerate waste collection

In an effort to accelerate waste collection and street clean-up operations, uMlalazi Municipality has expanded its capacity by acquiring multiple mass containers and concrete bins.

This will assist to ease the waste collection backlog around the eShowe CBD and help the municipality with cost recovery and widening the revenue streams.

uMlalazi Mayor Queen Xulu emphasised the need to reclaim the position as one of the cleanest cities in northern KZN.

“Mass containers and concrete bins will benefit residents of Ward 11, Ward 12, and Ward 28.

“We remain committed to ensuring a user-friendly environment for communities to live in and for businesses to thrive,” she said.
