Lucky lady from Bay wins R100 000 worth of household appliances

Richards Bay resident Leanne Patterson is counting her lucky stars after winning R100 000 worth of household appliances.

This after she won a recent East Coast Radio competition sponsored by Beko. All Leanne had to do to enter the competition was say why she deserved the prize.

“I was just randomly scrolling through Facebook when I saw the competition, so I thought I would enter,” said Leanne.

When it was time to fill in why she deserved to win, Leanne’s reason was simple: “I need a dishwasher because I need peace in my house.”

Her request stems from the relatable ‘dish wars’ that take place in the majority of households.

“They initially let me know they were going to call me on the Friday but I didn’t think anything of it,” said Leanne, recalling the competition experience.

“I also thought they would not get through because our load-shedding was scheduled to start at 8.30am which usually leaves me without network.

“When I got the call, all I heard was the team screaming and congratulating me.

“Just to think I was the third person they called that day. I believe everything was meant for me, from the way I entered to the way I won,” she explained.

Leanne cannot wait to use all her new appliances and looks forward to seeing her kitchen without any dirty dishes.
