King Cetshwayo district police nab dangerous suspects

One was arrested for the unlawful possession of a police uniform

Following up on a tip-off, King Cetshwayo police last week arrested a man for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, and another for the unlawful possession of a police uniform.

The eShowe task team were carrying out patrols in the Vuma area near Nsuze when they saw a man fitting the description of a suspect.

After asking permission to search the man (37), they found a firearm and ammunition in his possession, but he failed to produce a licence.

He was arrested and charged.

In a separate incident in KwaMbonambi, Essential Infrastructure Task Team members together with the Empangeni task team followed up on information about a suspect involved in a carjacking case in the Sabhuza area.

They arrested a man who was found in possession of suspected stolen property, or taken in a vehicle that was hijacked.

“A police uniform was also found in his possession. The suspect was arrested and charged with possession of suspected stolen property and possession of a police uniform,” said King Cetshwayo Cluster police spokesperson Captain Siyanda Shangase.
