Three die in horrific N2 head-on collision

Three people in a driving school vehicle were declared deceased on scene

The N2 near Amatikulu was the scene of a horrific accident earlier this morning (Monday) after two vehicles collided head-on.

The accident occurred shortly after 6.30am on the southbound carriageway.

Three people in a driving school vehicle were declared deceased on scene by IPSS Medical Rescue paramedics, while three occupants in the second vehicle, an SUV, sustained only minor injuries.

According to IPSS spokesperson Samantha Meyrick, a driving instructor and two students in the driving school vehicle were en route to the eShowe testing grounds.

All services attended the scene, including the fire department, whose members worked quickly to clear the freeway of debris.
