WATCH: Hundreds queue in Richards Bay for army jobs

The SANDF has kicked off its recruitment drive

Hundreds of job seekers queued in Richards Bay on Wednesday to submit their CVs in the hopes of joining the South African National Defence Force (SANDF).

The long, snaking queues were observed along the streets of Veldenvlei, heading into the uMhlathuze Sport Complex as the SANDF kicks off its recruitment drive today.

Candidates interested in joining the army were called to submit applications during the Armed Forces Day (AFD) career awareness, running from 15 – 19 February, from 10am to 4pm.

The SANDF HR Department is on hand to collect applications for the 2023 military training intake for the SA Air Force, SA Army and SA Military Health Service (SAMHS), as well as to provide assistance to applicants.
Intake for applications closes on 28 February.

This drive, along with military hardware exhibitions, and demonstration displays, form part of the many planned activities ahead of the AFD parade on Tuesday, which will be officiated by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

These events are open to the public free of charge.
