Farmer association welcomes new agriculture MEC appointment
The organisation said it is confident that MEC Zuma will perform 'exceptionally well' in this position
The South African Farmers’ Development Association (SAFDA) welcomes the announcement of newly-appointed KZN MEC for agriculture and rural development, Super Zuma.
SAFDA executive chairperson Dr Siyabonga Madlala said the organisation is confident that MEC Zuma will perform ‘exceptionally well’ in this position.
“As an organisation representing farmers in this province, we look forward to working with him and engaging with him on issues affecting them,” said Madlala.
He further thanked outgoing MEC Bongi Sithole Moloi, saying she always prioritised farmers in KZN.
“Our relationship with the former MEC was positive, and we hope the same will continue with the new MEC. SAFDA is a vehicle for farmers, especially black farmers, to represent themselves in the sugar industry and other commodities,” added Madlala.
