WATCH: Angry Dondotha communities air grievances in protest

Lack of job opportunities, service delivery among community's grievances

DISGRUNTLED Dondotha community members this morning (Friday) closed the road near the stadium, in protest over service delivery and a lack of job opportunities.

Among their grievances, the community says they are being sidelined in job opportunities when the municipality hosts events, and they are also protesting over electricity shortages.

Umfolozi Mayor Xolani Bhengu is addressing the protesters and listening to their grievances.

Later today, King Cetshwayo District Municipality is expected to host its first Integrated Development Planning (IDP) meeting, which, at this stage, is unlikely to go ahead.

Speaking on behalf of taxi owners and operators, Sibonelo Kumalo from
Ithemba Labathethwa Taxi Association says the local municipality is excluding them when it comes to transport business in the area.
