Junior chefs step into the kitchen

ASPIRING junior chefs will battle it out in Richards Bay later this month.

If you are between the ages of 9 and 13, and 14 and 18, and love spending time cooking, why not enter for the Kids in the Kitchen competition and battle it out for the title of Junior Maestro Chef?

The competition is set to take place on Saturday, 17 September outside Woolworths at Inkwazi Boardwalk Shopping Centre from 10am to 3pm.

The closing date for entries is midnight on Tuesday, 13 September.

To enter, complete the entry form and attach a picture of your favourite meal (one you have prepared yourself).

During the competition, contestants will cook two meals; a main course and dessert.

Contestants will be judged on a set criteria in both rounds and the top three in each division will be chosen by the panel of judges.

Winners will receive a trophy for Junior Maestro Chef 2022. Prizes will be given to first, second and third places.

The top five contestants in each division will also have an opportunity to attend a masterclass during the September school holidays.

All ingredients, utensils and crockery will be provided.
