Luyanda and her teammates were selected at the South Africa Country District Tournament in July 2022, where they represented their provinces.
The teams are coached by professionals who promote the ongoing development and transformation of hockey.
An all-round hockey player, Luyanda currently coaches hockey at Empangeni High School. She grew up playing the sport and loves the fact that it keeps her busy, giving her the opportunity to travel the country and meet different people.
“I’m an adrenalin junkie, plus hockey keeps me fit and vigilant. That is what I love most about it,” she commented.
The total cost of the tournament is R6 000 which includes accommodation, transport, food, kit and the tournament levy.
Anyone who can donate to Luyanda’s trip to Pretoria is welcome to contact her on 066 2465623.
