TO ensure an enjoyable festive season, the Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (RBIDZ) will hand over a brand new, fully furnished house to 88-year-old pensioner, Gogo Ncube in Mtubatuba. She lived in a dilapidated one-bedroom house that was exposed to unfavourable weather conditions.
The RBIDZ understands that the older generation contributed to building today’s society, and it is noble to also look after them. As part of its community responsibility, the RBIDZ sets aside an annual budget to accommodate programmes related to community development to ensure various facets of social upliftment and welfare are taken care of.
The company’s commitment towards giving back to the community is reflected in its vision to driving sustainable investments while delivering value to stakeholders.
President Nelson Mandela once said, “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”
Inspired by the goodwill, the RBIDZ Board Chairperson, Advocate Bheki Mbili will lead members of the RBIDZ board and the executive to formally hand over the fully furnished house to Gogo Ncube at KwaNkombose in Mtubatuba under Umkhanyakude District Municipality.
The details of house handover ceremony are as follows:
