RBCT’s commitment to food security drive – Mandela Day 67 Minutes

RBCT employees visited Ntabeni Primary School on Mandela Day

“Be the generation to end poverty.” It was this slogan that led the team of RBCT employees to dedicate their 67 minutes for Madiba to a local primary school garden, doing something that has a long-lasting effect.

With this philosophy of care, respect and dignity in mind, upbeat RBCT employees descended on the Ntabeni Primary School garden, situated in the Dindima area rural reserve of Esikhaleni, on 18 July to plant more than 5000 vegetable seedlings.

In the true spirit of Madiba, the RBCT representatives got their hands dirty, doing serious gardening work and planting these vegetable seedlings in the school garden. The planting of a vegetable garden is a meaningful and sustainable way to respond to the food security challenges faced by the school in terms of its feeding scheme.

Another 1800 vegetable seedlings were donated to the House of Grace Orphanage Nursery NPO, located at Mzingazi Richards Bay, to assist them in growing their feeding scheme for young children who are accommodated at the centre.
