Richards Bay IDZ congratulates newly appointed MEC for KZN EDTEA, Rev. Musa Zondi

Rev. Musa Zondi was recently appointed as the MEC for KwaZulu-Natal Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, as well as the Shareholder of the EDTEA entities

RBIDZ Board Chairperson, Advocate Bheki Mbili has, on behalf of the board members and RBIDZ management extended outpouring congratulatory messages to Rev. Musa Zondi who has been recently appointed as the MEC for KwaZulu-Natal Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, as well as the Shareholder of the EDTEA entities.

In his message Adv. Mbili cited that this period ushers a new era and continues to invigorate hope to the people of this province and the country.

“I have no doubt that your steadfast leadership and wisdom will make significant strides and positive impact in the lives of our people through sustained economic development and growth, job creation, skills development and transfer” quipped Mbili.

Without delay, MEC, Rev. Zondi has officially engaged Chairpersons of EDTEA entities and Chief Executive Officers who all committed their support and shared the same vision of driving the collaborated efforts aimed towards fostering progressive relationships and strengthening the socio-economic landscape of KwaZulu–Natal province and the country.

In his remarks during the well-attended strategic engagement MEC, Rev. Zondi emphasised that the engagement marked the beginning of creating a sustainable environment for a prosperous and resilient province that will be supported by innovation, economic diversification, job creation and vibrant industrialisation.

He further emphasised that without the determined, vibrant and astute professionals he was meeting during the engagement the country could not move forward, therefore concerted efforts were important in driving the province and country forward.

In accepting the call for action, RBIDZ CEO, Mr. Thabane Zulu was quick to highlight that the Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone has made noteworthy progress in terms of attracting domestic and foreign direct investments; and the contribution that has been made by operational investors have had positive impact in job creation and other value chain opportunities.

‘I have no doubts that the leadership of the MEC, Rev. Zondi and Board Directors will strategically guide us to act accordingly in implementing the vision of the department and the province of KwaZulu–Natal at large,’ assured Zulu.
