Call for applications: RBIDZ Nal’ithemba Enterprise Development Programme

The RBIDZ Special Economic Zone Seeks to respond to a need to develop and support local Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) towards greater participation in the RBIDZ’s investment activities.

The RBIDZ Special Economic Zone Seeks to:

  • Respond to a need to develop and support local Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) towards greater participation in the RBIDZ’s investment activities.
  • Complement the industrial investment through upstream and downstream participation by local SMMEs resulting in localisation that leads to job creation and contribution towards inclusive economic growth.
  • Develop and foster a collaborative approach with its investors (current and prospective) in order to establish a mutually beneficiary programme.

Opportunities exist in the manufacturing sector; key amongst which are:

  • Chemicals
  • Logistics
  • Rubber and Plastics; and
  • Technology and Innovation

Companies must meet the following minimum criteria for further consideration, and copies of the requirements listed below must accompany their applications:

  • It must be an active company as per Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC).
  • The company must be tax registered.
  • The company must be 51% or more Black owned.
  • The company must have annual revenue turnover of less than R20 million.
  • The company must have verifiable operational experience as a support company in Chemicals, Logistics, Rubber & Plastics and Technology & Innovation beneficiation sector.
    Interested companies must be willing to expand operations nearby RBIDZ locators.

Interested companies may send an email to edprogramme@rbidz.co.za to request application forms or collect from RBIDZ Centre located at the uMhlathuze SMME One Stop Shop in Empangeni.

Application forms are obtainable from RBIDZ’s Nal’ithemba ED Centre located at the uMhlathuze SMME One Stop Shop in EMPANGENI (Opposite the Old Museum/Iziko Lounge). Failure to submit applications in the correct form with necessary supporting documents will lead to disqualification. Closing Date: 21 September 2023 at 4pm.
