Three arrested in Mtubatuba with dagga consignment

They followed a tip-off about suspected drug dealers in the area.

THREE suspects were on Thursday arrested by the Crime Prevention unit in KwaMsane near Mtubatuba for possession of marijuana.

Police spokesperson Captain Sbusiso Mkhize said they followed a tip-off about suspected drug dealers in the area.

“Two separate homesteads were searched and the police found dagga in both.

“KwaMsane police arrested two men for possessing dagga weighing 2.8kg and 4.1kg respectively,” said Mkhize.

“The police proceeded to the N2 where they stopped and searched a white truck transporting oranges.

“During the search, they found parcels of dagga weighing 3.1kg. A foreign national male was arrested for possession of dagga.”

He said the three suspects are expected to appear on Friday at KwaMsane Magistrate’s Court.
