We are currently seeking a professional public relations officer to handle all of our official communications and marketing campaigns. Our public relations officer will be responsible for all aspects of coordinating communications activities.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, develop and deliver positive and effective communication and public relations activities, including set up of all marketing events and road shows
- Actively develop brand identity and awareness
- Arrange, run and attend events, and represent the organisation at such events
- Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve the organisation’s presence and ensure the target audiences are being effectively reached
- Support and develop the use of all social media platforms to further engage with readers and the community at large
- Cultivate relationships with stakeholders from various levels
REQUIRED PERSONALITY TRAITS AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Qualification or studying towards a qualification in PR (or related field)
- Previous experience in a similar role will be an advantage
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills at all levels
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professional presentation
- Experience with handling digital video camera, lighting, audio and production skills an advantage
- Ability to work in a pressurised, deadline-driven environment
- Creativity in creating buzz with a passion for new ideas
- Excellent understanding of all social media platforms
- Comfortable about receiving feedback and acting on sometimes multiple reverts
- Able to work on a number of projects at once
- A can-do person with a problem-solving attitude, who’s cheerful and fun to work with.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12
- Own reliable vehicle and driver’s licence
- Fluent in English and isiZulu (read, write and speak)
