Winter programme keeps Zululand region’s vulnerable babies warm

Contact Lindiwe Dube on 082 3020332 to support

More infants and young children will be kept warm this winter through the Keep the Babies Warm campaign.

In support of the campaign, Zululanders from Trelique Models International donated towards the cause last week, sending bags of coats, hats, scarves, gloves, babygros and blankets.

The campaign forms part of the Winter School Holidays Programme which was launched by Linzwa Foundation two years ago.

“I started the campaign as part of my birthday celebration, but it has since grown,” said foundation director Lindiwe Dube.

“The aim is to reduce the unnecessary death of orphans and vulnerable children due to extreme winter conditions.”

Lindiwe Dube (centre) handed over some of the donated items to Sir Nkosi and Sister Ngonyama at Khandisa Clinic in KwaDlangezwa

Last week, the foundation donated clothing to beneficiaries in the Ntuze and Dlangezwa areas, as well as at various rural clinics.

Zululanders are urged to collect winter items for newborn babies and toddlers, and donate them to the community campaign.

Anyone wanting to donate to the winter warmth programme for the babies can contact Lindiwe on 082 3020332.
