Funding for the creative and cultural industry

All organisations operating in the creative and cultural industries are urged to submit their funding applications by Friday, 13 May.

The application process for grants to aid in funding arts, culture and heritage opened on Tuesday.

Sport, Arts, and Culture MEC Hlengiwe Mavimbela said all organisations operating in the creative and cultural industries are urged to submit their funding applications by Friday, 13 May.

‘The objective of the funding is to boost the sustainability of the creative and cultural programme in the province,’ she explained.

‘This includes disbursement of funds through the Transfers Policy to non-profit and non-governmental companies, co-operatives, and private companies to support the industry.

‘It is vital for every organisation that qualifies to use this opportunity to create fair and equitable access to funding opportunities available within the department.’

This year’s application process is available through www.kzndac.gov.za
