Comedy Wildlife Awards open for entry

The global photographic competition is in its 7th year

It may be 1 April but this is no joke.

The global Comedy Wildlife Awards are open for entry, so start submitting your funniest wildlife shots.

The competition is free to enter and can be done so via the website www.comedywildlifephoto.com, and runs until 1 September.

First prize is a luxury safari in Kenya courtesy of Alex Walker’s Serian, plus an exquisite handmade trophy.

Last year’s competition saw a record number of entries from around the world, so this year’s expectations are already high.

About the awards
The Comedy Wildlife Awards were launched in 2015 by Paul Joynson-Hicks MBE and Tom Sullam, both professional photographers who wanted to create a photographic competition that made people smile, as well as promoting conservation of wildlife and their habitats through a humorous and positive message.
Each year the competition supports a sustainable conservation organisation, and this year is no different.
For the 2022 awards, Comedy Wildlife is working with Whitley Fund for Nature (WFN), a UK-based charity that supports conservation leaders in their home countries across the Global South.
Over 29 years, WFN has channelled GBP19-million to more than 200 conservationists in 80 countries.

Comedy Wildlife competition categories are as follows:
• Creatures of the air
• Creatures of the land
• Underwater
• Video
• Junior
• Portfolio

The shortlist will be announced in October and winners in December.
