No critical injuries were reported after a vehicle smashed into a sand truck from behind on the John Ross Empangeni-bound carriageway earlier today (Wednesday).

According to the City of uMhlathuze traffic officers on scene, the truck driver escaped with no injuries whereas the driver of the car, who was the sole occupant in the vehicle, sustained serious but not critical injuries and was rushed to Ngwelezana Hospital for further treatment.
Traffic flow was not disturbed by the accident.
