‘We are always looking for more volunteers and we have no formal funding,’ said a ZWCO spokesperson, who asked to remain anonymous.

‘Keeping our boats and equipment maintained and fueled up is a major financial strain.

‘This usually falls on our volunteers who pay for these operations out of their own pockets. This limits, restricts and handicaps our ability. With the generosity of public donors, we could do so much more.

‘If you want to be part of what we do, but don’t see yourself racing at midnight through the bushes at the water’s edge pursuing poachers, you can make a very real and valuable contribution towards helping eradicate the rape of our natural marine heritage by poachers.

‘Anyone interested in volunteering can email morgansmit@yahoo.com, with the address line ‘ZWCO application’ and a short personal description (100 words or fewer).

Anyone willing to make a financial contribution can donate to the banking details below.
