Empangeni’s blocked stormwater drains to receive necessary attention
Municipality offers temporary intervention to address blocked stormwater drainage systems in Empangeni

Complaints from residents about blocked stormwater V-drains in Empangeni have not fallen on deaf ears.

This is according to ward 9 Councillor Ethan Ramkuar who last week inspected the blocked drains with City of uMhlathuze officials.
Ramkuar said the municipality has failed to appoint a stormwater maintenance contractor since 2019, but that, as a temporary intervention, these would be cleaned out as a matter of urgency.
