Richards Bay activist gives voice to the voiceless in anti-bullying campaign

Public figure launches campaign to expose bullying and help those affected by it

Public figure, mental and emotional health activist Neenã Macaïre Bezuidenhout is on a mission to help others find their voice.

Through her campaign Never Look Back, she continues to expose bullying and help those affected by it.

According to Neenã, the campaign aims to help those facing emotional and physical abuse, social bullying, trauma and emotional challenges.
‘I always believe that, when you have a platform and the voice to help others, you have an obligation to use your voice to empower others,’ she said.

‘I believe each person has a story to tell and has the right to tell their story. Every person is a product of their choices, stories and circumstances.

‘This platform allows them to find themselves again, and let people know that they have a support system where their voices are heard and valued as a whole.

Neenã founded the campaign in 2013 to deal with her own pain of being bullied.

‘I have walked a challenging and difficult life filled with many obstacles and life changing experiences. I would love to help others to find theirs.

‘We need to normalise talking about uncomfortable conversations and focus on reaching out.’

She encouraged people to check in on loved ones: ‘We need to be reminded that depression, PTSD and anxiety are silent killers. Lend an ear, be present and check in because you never know what inner battles people are facing or what someone is really going through.’
