SEARCH efforts are ongoing for a man reported missing while swimming in the sea between St Lucia’s Main and Jabula beaches on Sunday.
At just before 7pm, NSRI Station 40 crew members sprang into action after reports of a drowning in progress.
Rescue swimmers were alerted and the Sea Rescue craft 40 Alpha was launched, as was SAPS Search and Rescue, and the Specialised Tactical Accident Rescue Team (Start).
Despite tremendous efforts by the teams, the body of the 42-year-old male from Tanzania, who lives in Pretoria, had not been found by Tuesday afternoon.
