The King Cetshwayo Chess Association has announced 12 and 13 February as the dates for the year’s first tournament.
This is the King Cetshwayo Open, which will be contested at the Richardia Primary School hall, and is preparation to form the district team for the provincial championship, and later the SA Junior Championship.
Entry fee is R90 for U8 to U16 groups; and R100 for U18 and above.
Covid-19 procedures will be followed and face masks are compulsory. Pre-registration is essential as no registration forms will be accepted on playing day.
Entrants must be registered and active members of an affiliated chess club or school club within the King Cetshwayo district.
The entry form and a copy of a birth certificate must be emailed to griffithsbh@telkomsa.net before 10 February.
