Richards Bay’s North Central Arterial open after tanker jackknife

The tanker driver reportedly attempted a U-turn

THE North Central Arterial, which was blocked by a tanker earlier this morning, is once again open.

Reports from the scene indicated that the driver of the double tanker attempted to make a U-turn and got stuck.

The tanker was reportedly empty.

Many motorists and commuters were stuck in the rush-hour traffic jam which saw cars backed up all the way up to the Brackenham intersection.

The incident occurred in the vicinity of Nsezi, between Aquadene and the eNseleni N2 bridge.

All emergency services attended, and the truck was assisted back onto the road.
