The Empangeni SPCA is in need of support this festive season, with particular requests for animal food or financial contributions towards fuel, vets bills and vaccinations.
‘We are seeing a huge influx of strays, abandoned and unwanted animals, and we cannot run on empty,’ said Empangeni SPCA inspector Debbie Cross.
‘Unfortunately, the municipality has not been able to release funds as yet and, while we have faith that the funds will arrive soon, it is a daily struggle to survive.’
Cross thanked the community for ongoing support via the 600 Club debit order.
‘Please help us keep our SPCA open,’ she said. ‘You need us and we need you.’
