#Jab4Tourism pop-up vaccination site in Richards Bay this weekend

An activation is set to take place at the Meerensee Mall parking lot on Saturday, 18 December from 10am to 3pm.

In preparation for thousands of holidaymakers set to visit the province over the festive season, Tourism KZN is on a drive to boost Covid-19 vaccination numbers.

Through the ‘KZN is safe to travel‘ campaign, the entity is hosting #Jab4Tourism activations and pop-up vaccination sites in various parts of the province to promote the importance of getting the jab.

An activation is set to take place at the Meerensee Mall parking lot on Saturday, 18 December from 10am to 3pm.

The main goal is to ensure holidaymakers feel safe when visiting the province, and to continue to keep the tourism sector open.

This as KZN projects the tourism sector will contribute R1.9-billion to the GDP of the provincial economy for this festive season, as well as an estimated 820 495 domestic tourists who will visit KZN.

‘The festive season has a major economic impact on the tourism sector, and we would like to assure holidaymakers of their safety while in the province.

‘We continue working closely with our tourism trade partners to ensure the sector adheres to the health and safety protocols,’ said Tourism KZN’s acting chief executive officer Phindile Makwakwa.

‘We call upon our visitors to get vaccinated so all holidaymakers may safely enjoy the province’s tourist attractions, products, and services.

‘Similarly, we encourage all those working in the tourism value chain to #Jab4Tourism, which in turn will ensure the sustainability of the tourism economy, and save jobs.’
