Three ways to store carrots

Store carrots even without a fridge

Carrots are supposedly good for boosting eyesight – and have many other health benefits – but unfortunately they don’t always last.
In these tough times every bit counts, so we’re sharing some tips to keep those carrots lasting longer.

1. You can keep carrots fresh and crisp for more than a month with the use of plastic bags. To do this, cut off the greens first and wash the carrots thoroughly. Dry them with a cloth or let them air dry. Once completely dry, store the carrots in a closed plastic bag. Be sure to seal it tight.

2. Wrap the clean and dry carrots in aluminium foil. When doing this, make sure to leave extra space inside the foil to prevent moisture from accumulating

3. You can also store your carrots by burying them in sawdust. Remove the greens from the carrot and prepare a box or bucket with a layer of sawdust inside. Add the carrots on top, leaving enough space between them, then cover it with sawdust.
