BWA high tea to focus on businesswomen’s empowerment

Dlamini said the funds will also be to sustain BWA's expenses in order for it to be able to fulfill its mandate.

DEPUTY Minister for Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC), Nomalungelo Gina will deliver the keynote address at the Businesswomen’s Association (BWA) Zululand chapter’s high tea.

The event is set to take place in Richards Bay from 9am on Saturday, 11 December.

Gina will be joined by various businesswomen in the region at the event which, not only aims to raise funds for charity, but will serve as a networking and empowerment session for participants.

‘BWA continues to play an active role in inspiring, connecting and developing women in our region,’ said BWA Zululand chairperson Jabu Dlamini.

‘Our events and workshops throughout the year are a reflection of the powerful change that can occur when we work together in the common goal to lift and grow each other.

‘Therefore, as part of our mandate to develop women, their businesses and those within our communities, our year end function is the high tea which will see proceeds going towards supporting and identifying needy families through Dice (Do I Care Enough?).’

Dlamini said the funds will also be to sustain BWA’s expenses in order for it to be able to fulfill its mandate.

She said it will further give a platform to recent winners of the regional business achievers awards to share their success stories.
Speakers will include managing director of Khonzi Engineering Services, Nokuthula Madondo.

‘The organisation is driving to reach out to women in rural areas, and empower all women, including youth, in the space of entrepreneurship.
‘This will go a long way to ensuring they are active participants in the economy.

‘We are, therefore, encouraging all women in the region to book their spaces and participate in this prestigious event,’ said Dlamini.
