Fun run in aid of St Lucia Sea Rescue

The station's firm standing in the small community ensures good support from locals, with this weekend's fundraising efforts no different.

ST Lucia residents, and some visitors, hit the road on Saturday in a fun run to raise funds for NSRI Station 40.

One of the newly-opened NSRI bases, St Lucia’s Station 40 has put itself firmly on the map with the numerous call-outs undertaken by its team of dedicated volunteers.

The station’s firm standing in the small community ensures good support from locals, with this weekend’s fundraising efforts no different.

The fun walk, run or cycle started at 6am and could be done over four distances – 3km, 6km, 10km and 20km – and was open to athletes of all fitness levels.

Starting and finishing at the NSRI base, the event saw participants run, walk or cycle through St Lucia’s streets and natural areas.

Athletes of all ages took part in the event, with some even being pushed in pushchairs.
