More locations to collect R350 grant

Only grant recipients who have received an SMS from Sassa confirming their collection pay-out point at either Pick n Pay or Boxer can use the new collection points

Approved recipients of the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant can now collect their R350 from Pick n Pay and Boxer stores nationwide. This is applicable from yesterday (Wednesday, 22 September).

Only grant recipients who have received an SMS from Sassa confirming their collection pay-out point at either Pick n Pay or Boxer can use the new collection points.

‘Pick n Pay and Boxer are proud to assist grant beneficiaries to be able to access their funds more conveniently and safely, ensuring they receive much-needed relief quicker than before,’ said John Bradshaw, retail executive of Omnichannel, Pick n Pay.

How to collect the grant from Pick n Pay or Boxer:

1. You receive an SMS from Sassa confirming successful application

2. You will receive an SMS from Sassa confirming collection points and advising of day of collection

3. You must take your ID and cellphone (number registered at Sassa) to the store when collecting the grant

4. Enter your ID number and the registered Sassa cellphone number at the till point to confirm the funds are available for collection

5. You will receive a USSD message which must be approved on the cellphone before the cash is handed over.

Never enter personal information on your cellphones, or click on a link Pick n Pay and Boxer do not manage the application and approval of grant funds, or where collections can be made. The process is run entirely by Postbank.

Pick n Pay collection points exclude BP Pick n Pay Express, Pick n Pay Clothing and Pick n Pay Liquor.
