Bay police raid Richards Bay waterfront businesses

Richards Bay police say they will continue to clamp down on uMhlathuze city businesses not complying with Covid-19 regulations. This follows a major raid conducted by SAPS, the Empangeni Public Order Policing unit, municipal security and SANDF members at the Waterfront over the weekend.

No payment to queue at SA Post Office

The South African Post Office (SAPO) has condemned opportunists who are asking customers for a fee to secure a place at the front of the queue. SAPO has learnt that self-appointed ‘queue marshals’ are asking beneficiaries to pay a fee for services or to jump the queue.

Official: Petrol price increase as of Wednesday

Despite AA predictions of fuel price decreases for September, the Department of Energy has officially announced that petrol will in fact increase slightly as of Wednesday.

Both grades of petrol will rise by 4 cents while diesel will go down by 15.22 cents per litre. Users of illuminating paraffin will pay 15 cents less per litre.

Renew your car licence at the Richards Bay Post Office

Mopholosi after renewing his car licence

Motorists are able to renew their vehicle licences at the Richards Bay Post Office from 1 September following the installation of a renewal terminal at the building.

‘Post offices are busy places because social grants are paid out here so there will be a dedicated queue for motor vehicle licences,’ said Post Office spokesperson, Nobuhle Njapha.
