One killed, multiple injured in N2 crash near Mandeni

One person was killed and multiple others were injured in a head-on collision between a mini bus taxi and a bakkie on the N2 near Mandeni on Sunday afternoon.

IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson, Paul Herbst said details leading up to the collision are unclear but patients were stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital.

‘A total of 16 persons sustained various injuries whilst one person from the taxi succumbed to their injuries,’ said Herbst.

This was the third fatal N2 accident since Saturday night, bringing the number of deceased to five.
