Dams levels remain steady

KZN Department of Water and Sanitation calls on public to use water sparingly and to report water leaks and infrastructure vandalism

THE Goedertrouw dam near eShowe recorded a slight decline in capacity this week, dropping from 72.9% last week to 72.6%.

This according to the weekly report by the KZN Department of Water and Sanitation.

Hluhluwe and Pongolapoort dam levels also remained steady at 90.6% and 57.2% respectively, compared to 91.5% and 57.4% last week.

Overall dam levels in KZN stand at 70.1% compared to last year’s 59.7% at this time.

The department has, however, called on the public to nevertheless continue to use water sparingly and to report water leaks and infrastructure vandalism to local authorities.
