The sight of a huge South African Airforce C-130 Hercules aircraft flying over Richards Bay at midday today (Thursday) on its way to the regional airport – albeit a bit late for some – has uplifted the hearts of the local population.
The long-awaited presence of soldiers who immediately began offloading their weapons and kit from the troop carrier will go a long way to reassuring civil society that the scenes which devastated shopping centres throughout the City of uMhlathuze will not be repeated.
