‘We have witnessed chaotic situations sweeping across the province and the entire country since the incarceration of former president Jacob Zuma.

‘The whole country is in a dire situation. What happened has created a picture of people who have lost their dignity, but what is even more saddening is that those who are involved are members of the Zulu nation. This has brought shame to us.

‘I never thought that after the death of my parents I would experience people being involved in burning the country.

‘The most painful thing about this chaotic situation which has destroyed our struggling economy, is that the poorest of the poor will suffer the most as they would not have food owing to the trucks having been burnt.

‘The supply value chain is completely damaged. It is our very own people who will suffer as this happens during the peak of the Covid-19 virus.

‘This leads us to the conclusion that my father’s people are committing suicide,’ he said.
