Join ZO’s ‘drop off’ charity drive

Volunteers will be on hand at the Zululand Observer Empangeni offices to accept laundered used or new clothing and blankets as well as non-perishable food items to assist NPOs and vulnerable members of the community.

As part of the Zululand Observer’s annual ‘Hang out with Madiba’ campaign, the newspaper for the ninth year running is calling on the community to drop off winter woolies and food items on Thursday, 15 July.

All you need to do is spend 67 minutes of your time collecting these items from your home and then make a charitable delivery at the ZO drop-off zone between 8am and 12 noon on the day.

The third wave of Covid-19 has seen a wave of humanitarian and philanthropic work across the country to help the most disadvantaged communities.

Zululand is no exception and during this time where families are struggling financially and facing unemployment, the provision of food, winter clothing and blankets are much needed.

The washed laundry of love collected on the day will be distributed via the ZO’s charity arm – Dice (Do I Care Enough?) to needy organisations and communities.

This year, the ZO has again invited corporates, NPOs, service clubs and businesses to join the initiative by putting up their own lines and dropping off their laundry of love at the ZO charity line.

All donors must wear masks, and social distancing measures will be practised at all times.

Unable to get to our charity line on the day, please give us a call.
